What is Shibari?

Shibari (縛り) is a Japanese word that broadly means “binding” or “tying” in most contexts, but is used in BDSM to refer to this style of decorative bondage. Ropes made of various material, usually hemp or jute are used for binding the body and for suspension. Another commonly used term is Kinbaku (緊縛), and while the two terms differ, they tend to be used interchangeably.

Learning the variety of knots and bindings is a skill that can only be learned with practice, over time. Unlike knots used in shipping or farming, this artform is designed around safety and human anatomy. Using knots that will not slip, and proper rope placement is critical.

We work with skilled and expert rope masters, with years of experience behind them. Safety is foremost and every binding is done at the comfort level of the model or client. The quality of the rope is also a concern, and our experts use only the highest quality materials.
